Mozilla Firefox lets you create different profiles so that you can have more than one instance of Firefox on your computer.

Creating multiple profiles can be beneficial in a number of ways.

I have multiple Firefox profiles – one for blogging, another for trying out new plugins, yet another which has absolutely no plugins (Firefox is the fastest when its the lightest) and so on.

Here’s how you create Firefox Profiles in Microsoft Windows :

Go to Start

Select the Run option

Type in firefox.exe -ProfileManager

You would now see a small window which has various options and displays the current default profile.

Click Create Profile

Give a name to the new profile

You are now ready to use the newly created Firefox profile which is like a fresh installation of Mozilla Firefox.

Note : You cannot run multiple profiles simultaneously.

Every time you start Firefox, the profile select dialog would be displayed. IF you do not want the dialog to appear every time you start firefox then select the Don’t ask at startup check box.

This is where Fashion Your Firefox comes in handy.

Mozilla has created a list of categorized firefox plugins that should be useful to you.

You need to have latest version of Firefox (Firefox 3) for the add-ons to work.

What they say:

You spend more time online than on the road, but you probably think more about avoiding traffic than enjoying the best of the Web.

So, why not customize your Firefox for the things you really love to do? Take your browser from simple to spectacular.

Firefox add-ons are little extras that allow you to add a personal touch to your browser. Select your favorites from the categories below to accessorize your Web!

A lot of my friends have been asking me about ways to download videos from the internet.

I often keep hearing “How do I download Youtube Videos?” or “There is this cool video on MegaVideo.com and I want to download it, do you know of any sites or software that can help me in such video download?”

I have always been advising them on installing RealPlayer.

When you install RealPlayer, you also get plugins for your browser that help you download any video form the internet! The RealPlayer plugin for video download works for Internet Explorer as well as Mozilla Firefox.

I knew my search for that perfect plugin which would help me download videos from the internet had ended when I chanced upon this plugin. I hope your search for the perfect video download software too ends here ;o)

Using the RealPlayer plugin for Firefox and Internet Explorer (IE) you can download videos from youtube, metacafe, megavideo or just about any site that you watch videos on!

The next time a thought of video download occurs to your mind, you know what to do. Just hover your mouse over the video you are watching and click the ‘Download This Video‘ message that appears above your video. I bet Video Downloads were never this easy ;o)
