If you want to prevent other users of your PC from viewing your mails in Outlook then you can easily do so by setting a password for your outlook folders.

From the menu options at the top, Select Go

Click Folder List .

Right-click the Personal Folders folder and then click Properties For Personal Folders .

On the General tab, click on the Advanced button.

Click Change Password .

Since this is the first time you are setting a password for your outlook folders, leave the Old Password field blank. Enter the password you want to set in the New Password and Verify Password fields.

There is an option Save this password . If you select it, then outlook will save the password and not prompt you for it again. I guess the reason why you want to set the password is to prevent other users from accessing your mails in outlook. So deselect this option. If you deselect the option then every time outlook is started, a password prompt appears.

Click OK three times.

Update: I guess the below offer has ended. You can use my code isb8 to get $50 off on your hosting at DreamHost.

Alternatively, you can go to this link to GET $50 OFF on hosting + 1 free Domain Name !! This is the maximum discount you can get on hosting right now and you also get 500GB of disk space! Arguably, one of the cheapest hosting plans. Has easy one click wordpress set up option thus making it one of the preferred host for WordPress Hosting.

I came across this cool offer from DreamHost which was mentioned by QuickOnlineTips that gave away 2 year hosting at 95% off !

The offer ends on 4th of January 2009 , just a few hours more to go. So I suggest you try this at the earliest.

A lot of my friends could make use of this killer offer but some were not able to.

Every time the promo code 202 was used, DreamHost gave an error saying

Promo Code Error: Promo Code Invalid for your Region.

If you happen to face this problem, then try accessing DreamHost using the proxy 200.66.97.6 and port 8080 .

Please note this method might prove to be unsafe for making transactions using your credit cards. So do it with caution and if there’s no other option available.

To set the proxy in your browser do the following :

Set Proxy Server for Firefox :

Click Ok for all the dialog boxes that are open

Your proxy is now set. Open a new tab and go to DreamHost Signup ,

Select Domain Hosting

Mozilla Firefox lets you create different profiles so that you can have more than one instance of Firefox on your computer.

Creating multiple profiles can be beneficial in a number of ways.

I have multiple Firefox profiles – one for blogging, another for trying out new plugins, yet another which has absolutely no plugins (Firefox is the fastest when its the lightest) and so on.

Here’s how you create Firefox Profiles in Microsoft Windows :

Go to Start

Select the Run option

Type in firefox.exe -ProfileManager

You would now see a small window which has various options and displays the current default profile.

Click Create Profile

Give a name to the new profile

You are now ready to use the newly created Firefox profile which is like a fresh installation of Mozilla Firefox.

Note : You cannot run multiple profiles simultaneously.

Every time you start Firefox, the profile select dialog would be displayed. IF you do not want the dialog to appear every time you start firefox then select the Don’t ask at startup check box.

There are a lot of zip applications around that help you in compressing files. But a lot of times, even after zipping a file the size would be too big for you to send through your favourite mail or upload site.

There is an easy solution to this problem. You can use your favourite zip application to zip and split the file into smaller chunks. This feature is available in almost all of the major zip applications.

Here’s how you split a large file without the need of any separate file splitting software (I’ll be using 7zip for this purpose here but you can do it with most of the zip apps around)

Right click on the file/folder you want to compress and split.

Click ‘Add to Archive’

In the screen that appears, you will see Split to volumes, bytes . Enter the size that you want your file to be split into.

Example: I had a file of size 40 MB. I split it into 10MB each by typing 10M in the space provided.
