Creating multiple profiles can be beneficial in a number of ways.

I have multiple Firefox profiles – one for blogging, another for trying out new plugins, yet another which has absolutely no plugins (Firefox is the fastest when its the lightest) and so on.

Here’s how you create Firefox Profiles in Microsoft Windows :

• Go to Start
• Select the Run option
• Type in firefox.exe -ProfileManager
















• You would now see a small window which has various options and displays the current default profile.


















• Click Create Profile
• Give a name to the new profile

You are now ready to use the newly created Firefox profile which is like a fresh installation of Mozilla Firefox.

Note : You cannot run multiple profiles simultaneously.

Every time you start Firefox, the profile select dialog would be displayed. IF you do not want the dialog to appear every time you start firefox then select the Don’t ask at startup check box.

There is an easy solution to this problem. You can use your favourite zip application to zip and split the file into smaller chunks. This feature is available in almost all of the major zip applications.

Here’s how you split a large file without the need of any separate file splitting software (I’ll be using 7zip for this purpose here but you can do it with most of the zip apps around)

• Right click on the file/folder you want to compress and split.
• Click ‘Add to Archive’
• In the screen that appears, you will see Split to volumes, bytes . Enter the size that you want your file to be split into.

Example: I had a file of size 40 MB. I split it into 10MB each by typing 10M in the space provided.

Listed below are various ways to download images from Orkut Albums using Internet Explorer , Mozilla Firefox or Opera .

1. Download Orkut Images using Firefox:

• Click Tools -> Page Info

• Select the Media option

• Select the image you want to download (usually its the one with the longest name)
• Click Save As

2. Download Orkut images using Internet Explorer:

• Click File -> Save As …
• Select Save as type as Webpage, complete (*.htm;*.html)

• Click Save
• Open the folder that is created along with the html page and search for the image you wanted.

3. Download Orkut images using Opera:

• Right Click is not disabled in Opera!
• Right Click on the image you want to download from Orkut and click Save Image.

Hope this helps you at times when you really need to download images from social networking sites such as Orkut but cannot do so in the traditional ways.
