yeah, thats what I do!!!
Recently, I read an article where the author claimed that his domain was hacked and transferred to someone else and Gmail seems to be the culprit!
Apparently, the problem lies in the Filters that we have in Gmail. The hacker takes advantage of these filters to create a filter that would forward a mail from your email address to the hackers address and subsequently delete the mail from your inbox.
This way the hacker can gain access to your passwords by creating a filter and clicking on the ‘Forgot Password‘ link in the respective site.
We all know that when we forget our passwords, we get a new one mailed to our mailbox. This is exactly what the hacker does.
You can get a more elaborate idea about the Gmail hack from this article here.
So friends, beware of this gmail hack. Do keep checking your filters often and avoid visiting suspicious sites.

There are more number of hack attempts on domains. Better for everyone to make a switch from gmail to others like yahoo or msn… After makeuseof, there are few more examples listed on makeuseof which have been hacked
. Most important hting is that all attempts seem to be done by the same person

@Pavan
Yeah, many more sites have apparently fallen prey to this technique! A good thing to avoid this according to me would be to have a separate email account for your domains and other important logins.

The first thing I did after reading this post was to check my filters.
Yeah, agreed about attacks on domains. I am one such victim and yet to do anything about it.
Thanks for sharing this useful info.

@kiran
In this case, the hacker got access to the victims domain name and demanded money from the owner to give it back to him!

@Kiran
not sure about it. Even if there was one, its not necessary it would be the same in all the countries. So usually, users are left to fight their own battle.
