Recently, there were reports that Gmail accounts are being hacked and filters created in order to forward sensitive information to the hackers.

Google has come out with a post on its security blog where Google claims that this is not really possible.

Google goes on to add that the whole episode was a result of a phishing scheme and not due to a security hole in gmail.

That seems like some good news and I guess users can heave a sigh of relief! A lot of Gmail users were worried about sensitive data being hacked from their Gmail account. I guess it’s time to relax now.

A secure way of browsing Gmail is to use https instead of http.
