yeah, thats what I do!!!
Is Gmail blocked in your company?
Want to send mails using Gmail even when it’s blocked?
Well, you can use a proxy site. But then we all know that eventually these proxy sites will also be blocked.
Today, me and a couple of my friends Teknovelo(Abhi) and MAAN(Raj) chanced upon a novel idea to send mails using Gmail (or for that matter any mail id that is used as your primary email id in your google account) even when gmail is blocked.
The trick is to make use of the ‘Email‘ option in your Google Reader! If you haven’t noticed, google reader has a set of options at the end of each feed post. The options are ‘Add Star‘, ‘Share‘, ‘Share with note‘, ‘Email‘, ‘Keep unread”, ‘Add tags‘ .

Click on the ‘Email‘ option and you will see something like this:

Fill out the ‘To‘ and ‘Subject‘ fields. You will also notice that you get a drop down of the mail addresses stored in your gmail account when you type a name in the ‘To‘ field just like the way you get in Gmail.
Hit the ‘Send‘ button ;o)
Here’s a snapshot of a test mail that I sent through my Google Reader :

Now, since the post feed is also attached when you send an email through your Google Reader, I thought why not create an empty post so that all of you can use that to send emails to your friends and families through Google Reader.
So, the next post after this would be an empty post with the title MAIL.
P.S. Please remember that when you send mails through Google Reader, the post feed for which you clicked ‘Email‘ is also attached. So don’t use this method to send important and officail mails. Don’t forget to send a test mail to yourself so that you know how your mails would look like.
