yeah, thats what I do!!!
Do you need to transfer your Mozilla Firefox profiles (bookmarks, saved password, plugins etc.) from one computer to another. There might be a number of reasons why you may want to do this. May be you plan to change your hard disk. May be you just bought a new PC and plan to chuck the old one. It’s such a pain to install all the various add-on’s that you might have installed.
I faced a similar scenario. My hard disk was on the verge of a crash (when your hard disk makes a grinding noise it means the end of day is nearing ;o) ) and so I bought a new one in order to be able to transfer all my data before the hard disk crashed.
I needed to transfer my firefox profile from the old hard disk to the new one. I found out, it’s the easiest thing to do!
1. Install Firefox in the new hard disk
2. Copy paste all the contents from your old hard disk’s location as below to a similar one in the new hard disk :
C:\Documents and Settings\(user name)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\(a folder with extension .default)
The folder with the ".default" extension would be your default profile.
You’ll be able to see Firefox the way it was in your old hard disk!

This is an application currently stable for transfer of firefox profiles by creating a local backup and then using that to import the profile on an other machine. Remote backup feature is in development.
